What to Do If You Experience Video Streaming Problems

The videos we produce and publish the highest quality videos we can. The downside with this approach is that some customers experience latency issues with video playback (because the video files are too large for their home network.)

If you are experiencing playback latency, I recommend the following steps:

  1. Use the gear icon in the bottom right hand corner of a video to reduce the quality from 1080p to a lower format. (See the photo, above)  Keep experimenting until you get the right combination of acceptable throughput and quality. You might need to drop down to 360p.

  2. The source of your problem might be either your home network or the throughput of your internet service provider (ISP). You might consider the Google WiFi solution (described in the next article) or ask your ISP to up your bandwidth. 

  3. We publish the a second version of the workout videos that are smaller (more compression). You will find those videos in a section below the regular video workouts. The video content in the low bandwidth videos is exactly the same as the regular videos but do not cause the latency issues.
