The Workouts
This edition of Stronger Bones, Stronger Body includes three video workout sessions (between 40 and 45 minutes in duration).
You can do all of the workouts the comfort and privacy of your home, and at your pace and as frequently as you like.
Each workout session is easy to follow, includes detailed explanations and demonstrations, and requires minimal setup and equipment.
This programme is designed for adults who want structured, educational exercise guidance for bone health, and who can exercise at home without hands-on supervision.
We define a Beginner as someone new to exercise or has not exercised in months, years, or ever other than performing everyday tasks such as light housekeeping or gardening.
Make sure you receive the clearance from your physician or physical therapist before starting this or any other exercise program.
This programme cannot see you, progress you week by week, or correct your form in real time. If you need that level of attention, please work with a clinician in person.
This is a pre-recorded educational exercise programme. It is not a physiotherapy, medical, or personal-training service. Buying it does not make Margaret Martin or MelioGuide your clinician, and we do not assess whether these exercises are right for your body.
Exercise involves a risk of injury, including fracture. If you have osteoporosis, osteopenia, a recent fracture, spine, hip or pelvic pain, or you have been told you are at high fracture risk, get clearance from your own physician or physiotherapist before you start.
Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, chest pain, or unusual shortness of breath.

No. Stronger Bones, Stronger Body has some of the exercises found in Exercise for Better Bones and is for the active adult who wants an exercise workout routine that they can follow at home. Exercise for Better Bones is a “prescribed” osteoporosis exercise program. You can find the videos for many of the exercises on the page Osteoporosis Exercise Plan.
Stronger Bones, Stronger Body Beginner II is designed for the beginner adult who wants a safe exercise workout that keeps them active and independent. The workouts were developed for people with osteoporosis, osteopenia and low bone density. Whether a particular exercise is right for you depends on your own history, so I ask everyone to check with their physician or physical therapist before starting.
Each session is about 35 minutes in length and represents your workout for the day. I recommend that after you do your Day 1 exercise that you move on (the next day or several days after depending on your schedule and recovery time) to Day 2 and then to Day 3 and then start again at Day 1. Each session is designed to address different areas and and to get the most of the video, you should enjoy the variety of Day 1 through Day 3.
If you find specific exercises too challenging I recommend less demanding versions of the exercise for you to follow.
